Don’t Judge a Detour Until You Arrive at Its End!

Overreacting when an unanticipated detour or delay rudely interjects itself in your life is pointless, because you will encounter many, if you live long enough. Sometimes, you’re forced to brake, change lanes, and even turn off the road. They can create minor or major disturbances, having positive or negative ramifications for your time management, finances, health, relationships, plans, and aspirations.

I’ve had times where I set out believing I was on the best path toward a destination—whether a spiritual, physical, mental, or emotional one—when suddenly! a disruption stopped my forward progress, even sharply turned me in a brand-new direction I never considered. I attribute such times to God intentionally placing departures on my path, forcing me to accept a divine directional change. After all, nothing happens without a reason.

Life consists of thousands of journeys, with some undergoing significant deviations. Embrace these disruptions, along with the unencumbered successes, with as much enthusiasm as you can muster. Don’t get discouraged or throw in the towel if you can’t get there as planned. Enjoy the journey with your eyes open to new things and experiences! God wants to show you the best route to follow to attain anything admirable in life.

Finally, don’t make Him your copilot. Rather, hand over the keys to the greatest Pilot of all, then scoot onto the passenger seat, and gaze out the window to see the things He wants you to experience along HIS flight map for your life!
