Time goes by so fast, and especially so at my age! I’m 70 years old now, and I want to make every second of my remaining life meaningful and significant. That’s why I’ve decided to pursue my 55-year-old dream of becoming a published author. I don’t want my life to conclude like one of those movies where people would say, “Man, I can’t wait for this show to end.” On the contrary, I want it to be a movie where people would say, “Oh, no, it ended too soon!”
I fervently encourage you to chase after and tackle your dreams the instant they are born in your mind. I personally let life, immaturity, and other people’s opinions about which career path I should choose cut my dream off when I was a teenager. That inaction has haunted me for 5½ decades. I should’ve been stronger, like now, but that’s how it goes sometimes.
So now, I’ve pinned my dream to the ground with my book project—Champagne Waves & Sailing Ships, Book One of The Golden Slide series. It is my redemption from a sense of failure for not having pursued a God-given passion. It doesn’t matter what obstacles you face; don’t let your weaknesses, fears, or inhibitions steer you off your path to achieving something great in your life. Not great in the eyes of the world, but something spectacular in your spirit.
TODAY, take what steps are necessary to capture your dream. Do it without fear. Look forward, not backward or sideways. It’s not about accumulating money or stardom, but a simple sense of pleasure and accomplishment in your spirit!
“Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.” (1 Corinthians 1:26-29 NIV)
Have a warm and safe weekend!
